Institute of Family Medicine and Public Health

The Institute of Family Medicine and Public Health at the University of Tartu is a leading academic centre dedicated to public health research, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Since 2022, we have collaborated closely on teaching global health to pan-university students at both institutions. Together, we created a unique course that remains the only one of its kind nationwide, introducing students from diverse academic backgrounds to the foundations of global health science and practice. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to innovative education and to strengthening global health literacy across disciplines.

Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME)

The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington is an internationally recognised centre for advancing population health measurement and evidence-based decision-making. Our collaboration focuses on the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) study and on strengthening its visibility and relevance in Czechia and Central Europe. Together, we are working to establish the GBD Czechia network and to produce the first-ever GBD estimates for Czechia. This partnership supports the wider dissemination of GBD methods and findings and contributes to the development of a stronger regional community of research and practice.
